I start this blog at the beginning of a new training cycle. I swam regularly, but without much intensity this summer. I now look forward to USMS short course nationals in Austin, TX next May. I will really go through two training cycles, one focused on a SCM masters meet in Columbia, MO on Dec. 1-2, 2007, and the other ending with the SCY meet in Austin.
Today, I did the 1K open water swim in Branched Oak lake in Lincoln as part of the Cornhusker State Games. I'm not much of an open water or distance swimmer, so it was mostly for fun. I finished in 12:29. Seems like a decent time, but who knows how long the course really is?
